Portrait of Wren Knowles Schmidt

About me

Hi, I’m Wren.

You might like to know a little about me before deciding whether to reach out.

My work has been shaped by over two decades supporting children and families: first as an early childhood educator and school leader, and later in mental health. I bring together my training in psychology, education, responsive conflict resolution, and cognitive behavioral therapy with a deeply curious, empathetic approach to understanding family life.

I grew up across the United States and was homeschooled through eighth grade. My nomadic, nature-filled, inquiry-led childhood continues to inform the way I think about learning, child development, and family dynamics.

I have lived in Berlin since 2006 and have two wonderful bicultural children with my German husband. My own life across cultures, alongside my professional experience, has given me a particular appreciation for the complexity, resourcefulness, and care that parenting asks of us.

Restorative practices inform how I approach conflict: making space for each person’s perspective, understanding the impact of our actions, and finding ways to repair connection. I believe there is rarely a single right answer. My role is to help you step back, see the bigger picture, and move forward with more clarity and confidence.
