Privacy notice
Updated: 29 September 2026
Who is responsible?
Wren Knowles Schmidt is responsible for personal data processed in connection with this website and initial coaching inquiries. Business postal address: Chausseestraße 86, 10115 Berlin, Germany. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email hello@knowlesschmidt.com.
What this notice covers
This website offers parent and family coaching, not psychotherapy or diagnostic assessments. This notice covers website visits, initial inquiries and arranging introductory conversations. Information about any additional processing during coaching, including the online-session service used, will be provided separately before it begins.
Website hosting
The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Delivering the pages and maintaining security involves processing technical request data, such as your IP address, requested page, date and time, browser information and response details. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in providing a reliable and secure website and preventing abuse.
Netlify uses international infrastructure, so data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Netlify’s published data-processing terms provide for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable and EU Standard Contractual Clauses for relevant transfers not covered by that framework. Details and copies of the safeguards are available in Netlify’s data-processing agreement; see also Netlify’s privacy information. Technical data is retained for as long as needed to deliver the service, investigate security incidents and meet applicable legal obligations; the period depends on the type of record and hosting service.
Cookies and external content
The website itself does not set cookies or use browser storage, advertising trackers, embedded maps, external fonts or social-media widgets. Photos are delivered with the site and fonts come from your device. Technical hosting and security processing still takes place as described above. External links only take you to another provider when you choose to open them.
Email and introductory conversations
Contact buttons open your email application. There is no website form that collects or submits your details. If you send an inquiry, your email address, name, message, preferred times and any phone number you provide are used to respond and arrange an introduction or callback. For inquiries about services, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps at your request before entering a contract); for other correspondence, it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (the legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry).
Email is hosted by Tuta, operated by Tutao GmbH, Deisterstr. 17a, 30449 Hannover, Germany. Tuta states that data is stored in Germany and that mail-server logs containing sender and recipient addresses and connection times are retained for a maximum of seven days. See Tuta’s privacy policy. Ordinary email exchanged with external email providers is not automatically end-to-end encrypted.
Please keep your first email to contact and scheduling details. Do not include children’s names, diagnoses, medical records or sensitive family histories. Any necessary processing of sensitive information during coaching requires separate information and an appropriate legal basis and safeguards before it is requested.
Postal correspondence
Meeet receives and forwards mail sent to the business address; no mail-opening or scanning service is used. Correspondence and delivery details are processed to receive and respond to your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for service inquiries and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other correspondence. The mail-handling provider and postal delivery services receive the information needed to provide their services.
Recipients and retention
Data is processed by Wren Knowles Schmidt and, where necessary, the hosting, email and postal-service providers described above. Disclosure to authorities or professional advisors may also be necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Inquiry correspondence is kept only while needed to answer and follow up your request or arrange services. Once that purpose has ended, it is deleted unless legal retention obligations or legal claims require continued storage. Contractual or accounting correspondence is kept for the applicable statutory retention period. The criteria are the purpose of the record, whether the inquiry remains active, any resulting contractual relationship and applicable legal obligations. Hosting and email providers also maintain technical records as described above.
Your choices and rights
Sending an inquiry is voluntary and is not required to browse the site. Without a way to contact you, a reply cannot be provided. This website does not use automated decision-making or profiling to make decisions about you.
Subject to the GDPR’s conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
You may complain to a data-protection supervisory authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. You can contact Wren at the email or postal address above to exercise your rights.
